Poultry for Dogs
Chicken and duck are among the raw materials you'll barely find missing from any ingredients list, and for good reason. Poultry is easily digestible, contains high-quality protein and is therefore a reliable base in the bowl for many dogs. We explain what makes poultry as a raw material, why chicken and duck have proven themselves so well in canine nutrition, and how NANDOO works with them.
What is poultry?
In pet food, poultry mainly refers to chicken and duck combined, less often turkey too. For high-quality dog food, the meat, sometimes including skin, is processed and, depending on the recipe, used as fresh meat, dried, or as meat meal. The declaration is decisive here: the ingredients list should clearly show how high the actual proportion of genuine muscle meat is, rather than hiding behind vague collective terms.
Chicken is considered the classic among protein sources and is well tolerated by most dogs. Duck has established itself alongside it as a popular alternative, particularly for dogs that react sensitively to chicken.
Why poultry for dogs?
Poultry meat is lean and high in protein, while being comparatively easy to digest. That makes it a protein source that's often well received even by sensitive stomachs. Chicken has counted for years among the best-researched types of meat in canine nutrition and is therefore part of many everyday recipes.
Duck, in turn, is interesting for dogs whose bodies react to chicken. As a different protein source, it can be a sensible variation in the feeding plan, for example as part of an elimination diet in consultation with your vet.

Häufige Fragen zu Poultry for Dogs
