Good dry food is the reliable base in the bowl: practical to store, easy to dose and with a high energy density. Our NANDOO dry food focuses on what matters: a high meat content, grain-free recipes and clearly declared ingredients. From the popular lamb with vegetables variety to single-protein recipes for elimination diets, you'll find the right basis for every dog.
Many cheap dry foods bulk out the recipe with grain. Instead, we rely on meat as the main ingredient and do without wheat, sugar and artificial additives. This benefits dogs prone to soft stools, flatulence or itching, and supports calmer digestion.
A dog's needs change with age. To help you choose the right food, we've sorted our dry food by life stage:
Puppies need food that supports growth and digestion, with smaller kibble that even small mouths can manage well.
You'll find the selection in Dry food for puppies. Adult dogs do best with a balanced everyday recipe, while seniors benefit from a lighter composition that takes a calmer metabolism into account: you can read more in the Dry food for seniors. For petite breeds there's also appropriately sized kibble in Dry food for small breeds.
If your dog reacts sensitively to certain ingredients, our single-protein varieties are the right choice. They're suitable for an elimination diet and are grouped together in Dry food for allergy-prone dogs.
It's best to introduce a new dry food over seven to ten days, gradually increasing the proportion of new food. This lets the stomach get used to it calmly. If your dog prefers something moister, the dry food can be soaked with a little warm water or mixed with a portion of wet food.
Both have their strengths, and many dog owners end up combining the two. Dry food is practical, has a long shelf life and is easy to dose, and chewing the kibble also helps keep teeth clean. Wet food scores with its high moisture content and strong smell, which tends to encourage fussy or older dogs to eat. A proven approach is to feed dry food as a base and top it up with a portion of wet food. For a sensitive dog, the only important thing is to stick to the same well-tolerated protein source in both cases.
A good dry food has a high meat content, a clear protein source and no grain. Which variety suits best depends on age, activity level and tolerance.
The amount depends on weight and activity level. Every variety includes a feeding recommendation as a starting point, which you then adjust to your dog.
Yes, that's no problem at all. Just adjust the total amount so your dog doesn't get too many calories.
Switch gradually over 7 to 10 days: start by mixing a little new food in with the old, then increase the proportion step by step.
